Exceptional horse riding tour in Jordan
Only for medium to experienced riders. The trail will be around 160-170 kilometers, every day around 25-30 km riding distance on horseback, 6 days in row. Starting from Humeima, via the Wadi Rum to Um Addami and back to Wadi Rum.
The horse riding starts in Humeima to Garaza. Behind you the Shara mountains leading to Petra. In front of you the mountains of the Hisma desert. Southwestern the mountains of Shafi leading to the Wadi Araba and Israel border. In the north the Ras a Naqab mountains. Garaza is spectacularly because of its natural rock bridges. From the white desert with vast plains we continue to the rocky desert with sand colors of orange and red. Disa is only a desert village to supply new forage. From here we enter the Wadi Rum protected area. On the go we will pass many of the famous Wadi Rum landmarks: Alameleh inscriptions, Um Ishrin, Lawrence's house, Ar Ra'aka, Um Fruth Rock Bridge, Um Sabatah, Al Warqa, Daghdagh, Wadi Sabet, Um ad Dami, Um Muqur, Burdah bridge, Siq Burrah, Khor Mharraq, Um Nfoos, Siq Um Al Tawaqi (Lawrence Siq), sunset site "Al Ghuroub".
Natural rock bridges and highest mountain of Jordan, Um Addami
During our tour we will see more natural rock bridges and arches of the Wadi Rum and around. As well as the two highest mountains of Jordan: Um ad Dami (1884 meter), Rum (1754 meter)
All transportation during the journey. Horseback riding with guide. All overnights including breakfast (2 nights hotel, 1 night luxury camp, 6 nights bivouac). All meals, bottled water, coffee and tea during horse riding.

Day 1: Arrival in Jordan, departure to Humeima. Humeima is a place on the pilgrimage route, located on the Kings Way and an important stop between Petra, Wadi Rum and Aqaba. It was built by the Nabataeans, with an ingenious water system. The water had to be transported from the mountains of Ras an Naqab over many kilometers to Humeima. For the Romans it was a garrison town. Various early Christians lived there and built churches. Popularly the place is called Abbesiya, after the Abbasids. In Humeima the first two kings of their dynasty were born, later the Abbasids ruled from Baghdad.
Humeima is the starting place for your horses journey halfway Petra and Wadi Rum, on the edge of the desert Hisma.

Day 2: Start of the journey on horseback.
We immediately are heading to the Hisma desert to Garaza. We will visit the natural rock bridges. Enjoying with your horse on the great, vast plains. Making connection with your horse who loves to go out into the desert. Near Garaza we build our camp. Lunch is on the way. In the evening dinner is prepared on wood fire.
Day 3: From Garaza to Disa, the northern desert of Wadi Rum. You see the colors change from yellow to red and all shades in between. Overnight at Disa, in the desert of Wadi Rum in a camp with sanitary. Here the supply of water and food will take place to have everything with us for the trek towards Um Ad Dami.
Day 4 & 5: The journey lasts for two days to reach mount Um Ad Dami, the highest mountain of Jordan, on the border with Saudi Arabia. We see every day a very different desert landscape. We pass through canyons, rugged cliffs, lovely scenery and get close to the project with the Ibexen. These were extinct. Wadi Rum has set up a rehab program and have set free some Ibexen in the Wadi Rum. A breeding program has to ensure that the population will multiply. Along the track, camp is made and the next night near Um Ad Dami.
Day 6 & 7: From Um Ad Dami we will traverse the Wadi Rum to see more of the (tourist) highlights. The journey takes two days to finally finish south of Disa. The last night in the desert will be luxury in Suncity Camp.
Day 8: Early morning heading to Petra for a visit of the beautiful rose-red city carved in the rocks. Late afternoon the driver wil bring you to Aqaba to enjoy at the Red Sea.
Day 9: Free to explore Aqaba.
